Celtic Music in East Texas? Beyond The Pale features fiddle, guitar, highland bagpipes, small pipes, flute, whistles, hammered dulcimer, accordion and bodhrans and perform traditional Celtic, folk and original music.

Paul Baloche
Popular Christian worship leader from LINDALE, Texas.
Paul has traveled around the world holding worship and songwriting seminars. He has performed in South Africa,
Europe, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, and many of his songs have become favorite praise choruses sung
by people of all denominations. Wife, Rita
contributes much to the songwriting and performances. They
have worked with Hosanna Music and the Maranatha Praise Band. |

Randy Brown
Randy has played for years with a
wide variety of duos, trios and bands most notably the late great
folk/swing/jazz trio Jealousy Motel for the last 8 years.
His songs are stylistically very different ranging from folk to
country to jazz sambas all the way to acoustic rock. His live performances
are similar but are stripped down so they can be performed by one guy with a
guitar or mandolin. |

Eisley
After burgeoning on the Dallas scene in 2001, playing hundreds of shows
throughout Texas and garnering a fan base as an indie band, Eisley was
signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2003. The band won 'Best New Artist' from
the Dallas Observer Music Awards in the same year. The band had radio
success with the song "Telescope Eyes" from the Laughing City E.P.
Eisley has recorded videos for "Marvelous
Things", "I Wasn't Prepared", "Telescope Eyes" and "Memories"
The band's strong, steady, organic growth comes from touring and an
aggressive online marketing. |

Groves
Recent Rocketown Records member. Shaun's 2001 debut CD release
soared to No.1 nationally on adult contemporary Christian playlist with Welcome
Home. Tyler boy does good! Shaun's Invitation to Eavesdrop CD was
nominated for 5 Dove Awards.

Johnnie Helm
Smooth picker / songwriter Johnny Helm is kicking his musical career
into high gear. His recently released CD, When I Hold Her,
is packed with real life stories, dripping with emotion. He also
covers that important country topic, trains. Johnnie's live
performances often include angelic harmonies provided by wife, Trisha.
Johnnie's technical knowledge also supports the production of music by
other musical artists in the area. |

David Hendley
David Hendly is one of the most interesting "artists" in
the East Texas area. David in not only a talented writer and
performer, he is also a full time potter. Some say is is the original
"Harry Potter" David is a well respected potter, author, speaker and
folk/blues entertainer. His affiliations are many, including forming
Ezmarelda and the Fosdic Brothers (with his wife Karen), The Extrudinaires
and Hummus Atune. |

Jealousy Motel
Original Folk-Jazz with lyrics that keep on tickin', long after the
music's gone. John Defoore (guitar/vocals), Dirje Smith (cello/vocals) and Randy Brown (guitar/mandolin/vocals)
present a magical chemistry on stage that pleases all audiences. A
recent documentary on the group won a national film competition.
Jealousy Motel is currently not performing together,
except for special occasions. |

& Jeana Ureņa
Latin roots in East Texas! What diversity! World travelers Juan
Carlos & Jeana Ureņa have established their home in East Texas,
but their musical roots are in Costa Rica. Their high energy
performances include lyrics that include positive social messages from love songs to
the defense of human rights, social justice.

Jewish Music in East Texas? Neal is the rabbi of Congregation Beth El
in Tyler, and he is also an avid folk singer/songwriter. He has two CDs of
original Jewish music, and he is working on recording a CD of his folk
music. His music is influenced by the modern-acoustic folk movement. Neal
also produced the Tyler Tapestry Multi-Cultural Music Festival, and was
involved with producing the Mud Creek Music Festival in 2006.

Plain Folks
Plain Folks really aren't. They are extraordinary!
Jacksonville based Plain Folks recently released their debut CD, The
Folks Next Door. Their audiences are always assured that
this collection of doctors, lawyers and chiefs made up of Roland Brown,
Sam Smith, Sue Schultze, Loren & Jerri Lykins & Randy Gorham are
assembled to have a good time.

Dave Sherman
The Company Man has been advised by his closest friends
to keep his day job. He sings about real life experiences, family, work,
winning the Publisher's Clearing House and Duct Tape!
Dave bills himself as "another cheap opening act" and has shared the
stage such acts as with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Blood Sweat & Tears,
Livingston Taylor and the NESTLES's Moose (puppet). Dave's
first recording project in 3 decades was released
January 2008. Produced
by Randy Brown, RiverSide is a
collection of 15 original songs about family, faith,
furry friends, downsizing and fun.

Preston Newberry
Four year old Preston has been performing in public
since he was barely three years old. He is often seen along the highways and
byways of East Texas carrying his mandolin and sporting his sunglasses.
He recently recorded vocals for one song on Dave Sherman's RiverSide
project.
