Randy Brown- Randy
was a
regional finalist at the Kerrville
Folk Festival in 1995 and 19 of his songs
were recorded by the folk trio Jealousy Motel on their 2 CDs "Jealousy
Motel" and "We're Gonna Ride".
After many years of playing with a wide variety of duos, trios and bands,
most notably the late great folk/swing/jazz trio Jealousy Motel for the last
8 years Randy decided to begin a solo career. He
has a new CD of all original songs titled "Dream
Big". The songs are stylistically very different ranging from folk to
country to jazz sambas all the way to acoustic rock. His
live performances are similar but are stripped
down so they can be performed by one guy with a guitar or mandolin.
Neal Katz -
Neal Katz has been
making Jewish and folk music for over seventeen years.
Over the past few years, Neal has been an opening act for Billy
Jonas, Buddy Mondlock, Tom Kimmel, Nick Annis, and Albert and Gage - as they
all passed through East Texas. He was also a regular at the Up-A-Creek
Coffee House and performed at the Mud Creek Music Festival. Neal has also
played at coffeehouses in other parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, and
Virginia.
In 2009, Neal released
"Day Will Come," his debut folk CD filled with 13 original songs. The
project was produced by famed singer/songwriter/producer Tom Prasada Rao. A
number of other artists contributed to the project including Gordon McLeod,
Dave Massengill, Dirje Smith, Martin McCall, Cary Cooper, Phil Rumbley, and
Milo Deering.
Dave Sherman -
Dave sings about real life experiences –
family, faith, work, winning the Publisher’s Clearing House and Duct Tape!
Dave walks his audiences through a lifetime of creative writing. He escorts
his audiences from Mayberry to see Andy and Barney, to Alaska to witness the
Gold Rush and to a hospital corridor to hear a baby girl being born.
Dave’s songs include hard-driving blues
and laid-back folk tunes. His songs are wrapped around a voice that is as
much a part of the Mississippi Delta as cotton fields and paddle wheels. He
has shared the stage with such acts as with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,
Blood Sweat & Tears, Livingston Taylor … and Preston.
